FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Curiosity brings questions. We’ve got answers.

IV Therapy

What happens when I come in for a treatment?
A Hydralive registered nurse (RN) will conduct an assessment of your condition including pulse oximetry, heart rate, blood pressure, medical history, current medications, and allergies. After ensuring that an IV treatment is safe and appropriate for you, the nurse will then discuss your current symptoms or treatment goals with you and suggest an IV cocktail specifically for your needs. He or she will then mix your IV bag and begin the infusion via a soft flexible catheter inserted either into your hand or your arm.

How long does an IV treatment take?
Since everyone’s body is different every treatment can take a different amount of time. Some people are able to get a full 1000 ml treatment in about 35 minutes, for others that same treatment will take around an hour. We ask that you set aside at least an hour to receive a Hydralive IV treatment.

Does getting stuck with the needle hurt?
Most people claim that our trained medical personnel make the hydration experience nearly painless, or that they only felt a slight “pinch” when the needle breaks the skin. For those that are seriously nervous about the process being uncomfortable, we offer a topical anesthetic to numb the injection site (for a small fee). Once the IV has started, most people enjoy the cooling sensation as the fluids enter their body.

What kinds of medicine and vitamins can you put in the IVs?
We have medicine and vitamins for anti-headache/body ache, nausea, upset stomach/heartburn, B complex vitamins, amino acids, B-12, a liver detox vitamin, magnesium, thiamine, taurine, vitamin C, and vitamin D.

What are the qualifications of the Hydralive staff?
Every member of our staff, with the exception of our admin team, is made up of board certified/state licensed medical healthcare professionals. Your treatment will be administered by a registered nurse (RN), and all of our treatment protocols are overseen by a board certified physician.

How often can I get a treatment?
We feel comfortable with our customers getting a Hydralive IV treatment every other day and getting a B-12 injection once a week. We are always able to individually gauge your body’s response to treatments and will accept referrals from your primary care physician if they feel you should be getting treatments more often.

Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept health insurance. We do accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express. By not accepting insurance, we are able to keep our overhead down and pass those savings along to you in the form of lower prices.

I’m hungover. Why don’t I just drink two sports drinks, chug a bunch of water and take some aspirin? Why should I spend 50+ bucks with you guys?

When you drink a large volume of liquid, your stomach is only able to digest and process a small amount of it at one time. The rest of it will cause you to feel even more bloated and uncomfortable than you already are. The excess fluid will be expelled from your body in your urine. A Hydralive IV treatment is the fastest, most efficient way to rehydrate your body and will quickly get you back to feeling your best. We also believe that time is our most valuable asset, and an hour with us at Hydralive is worth infinitely more than lying around all day feeling miserable!
