Experiencing pain of any form can make everyday life uncomfortable or even unbearable. Whether your pain ranges from constant headaches or pain from a lingering injury, it could leave you feeling like there is no escape. This pain can lead to numerous detrimental effects on your work and daily activities, as you might want just to lie on the couch all day. However, there are several pain relief solutions to explore
One of the many ways to deal with the pain is by getting a Toradol shot. Toradol is available at any Hydralive Therapy location across Georgia or Alabama. Now, you may be asking yourself, what is Toradol? Or better yet, how long does a Toradol shot last? Keep reading this post as we shed more light on the details and benefits of this treatment.
What is Toradol, and How Long Does it Last?
Toradol, also known as ketorolac, is a medication that effectively reduces moderate to mildly severe pain. It falls under non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), alongside high-dose aspirin, naproxen, and ibuprofen.
Primarily used to manage joint pain, this drug is also helpful to those who have undergone surgery. It could also help you manage aches and pains in order to resume your normal life. How long does Toradol stay in your system? Toradol’s effects can last in the body for up to 33 hours. However, it is not a suggested treatment for long-term use.
How Does Toradol Work?
Toradol lowers the levels of the hormone prostaglandin. This hormone, when released, helps to counteract injury or illness and is one of the main ingredients in the inflammatory response. Prostaglandin is produced naturally within the body, but in excess, it can cause inflammation to increase, leading to more pain.
Toradol can help lower levels of this hormone, leading to less-severe inflammation and reduced pain.
Why Do People Take Toradol Injections?
Toradol is a powerful and quick way to counteract pain symptoms when you have a severe bruise or a recurring ache in any part of your body. It will relieve the swelling and soreness in your body but will not cure the condition causing the pain.
The drug is administered typically in three different ways: intramuscular injection, IV bag, or pill form. However, the most effective methods are a Toradol shot or an IV. A pill normally needs to go through the digestive system, hence taking longer to take effect. These other methods enter the bloodstream directly.
At Hydralive Therapy, we are focused on helping you fight numerous forms of ailments, including pain. Our Beast Mode (Athletic Prep & Recovery) therapy includes a mix of Toradol (30mg IV or 60mg IM) or Acetaminophen, Glutathione, B-Complex, and Amino Acids. This cocktail focuses on alleviating pain and helping you have a higher quality of life.
